VISIT LYONS

Coronado Quivira Museum Lyons, KS
The Coronado-Quivira Museum in Lyons is one of the best small museums in Kansas. Separate displays focus on early inhabitants, Spainish explorers, the Sante Fe Trail, and the coming of homesteaders and permanent settlers. Part of the museum is in the old Carnegie Library, with most of the displays in the newer, adjacent structure.

Coronado Quivira Museum- The area’s rich heritage is displayed here, including the Chisholm and Santa Fe Trails.  After stopping as Raymond, cowboys crossed the Old Santa Fe Road on their way to Ellsworth.  Both groups left evidence at one shared location, Cow Creek Crossing.
